Beauty

This picture embodies a theme of beauty known as cute. It is the act of making something seem nice in a way that has a tendency to refer to childishness. A perfect example of some different themes of beauty is comparing a poodle and a puppy. One is very elegant and well groomed while the other has a childish charm. The interesting thing about the form of beauty known as cute is that it also encompasses personality and actions. This turtle is cute because as you can see it’s on a finger. That adds scale and another important factor is the eyes. It is widely of opinion that big wondrous eyes or puppy eyes are cute. Also the way it has it’s legs moving is so babyish and beautiful. Now on to the next picyure that encompasses another form of beauty I talked about before. Elegance.








This turtle seems proud and elegant. It looks like it’s gliding across the water. Also the fact that the ridges in the shell point towards the head bring more attention to that. Another beautiful point is the wake line. It once again leads to the head and attract your attention to it. One interesting detail is that the sun is on the side away from the camera. This brings very interesting contrast to the picture as it is going against the standards of lighting up the closest side. However, this also brings out shadows and while that may not be the best choice with an already black leatherback sea turtle. It is quite interesting to see.
